The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that over 1,000 intending pilgrims have completed payment for the 2025 Hajj exercise, each paying the sum of N8,457,685.

The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, disclosed this to journalists in Dutse on Thursday. He stated that the fully paid slots are part of the 1,809 Hajj seats allocated to the state by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON.

Labbo called on zonal and local government officers of the board to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity and the fear of God, to ensure a successful Hajj operation.

He noted that the board is working diligently to improve upon its previous performance and deliver a seamless experience for the intending pilgrims.

According to him, the board has already commenced orientation and training programmes for pilgrims across all 27 local government areas of the state.

“The training focuses on the obligations, tenets, and cardinal principles of Hajj, allowing the intending pilgrims to understand and perform the rites in a proper and acceptable manner,”; he explained.

He urged all intending pilgrims to take the training seriously and ensure regular attendance, stressing its importance to a successful pilgrimage.

The Director-General also commended Governor Umar Namadi for his consistent support of the board and its activities.
