2025 U-20 AFCON: Flying Eagles’ Kparobo named among rising stars to watch

Published on April 30, 2025 at 07:54 AM

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has named Flying Eagles striker Kparobo Arierhi as one of the rising stars to watch at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

Kparobo will shoulder the goal-scoring responsibility for Nigeria in Egypt.

The 18-year-old scored three times for the Flying Eagles at the WAFU B U-20 Championship in Lomé, Togo, last year, including two goals in the final against eternal rivals, the Black Stars of Ghana.

The Lillestrøm (Norway) striker also registered two goals in Nigeria’s last two friendlies against Moraks FC and Egypt.

Nigeria will face Tunisia, Kenya, and Morocco in Group B.

Aliyu Zubairu’s side will take on Tunisia in their opening fixture at the June 30 Stadium in Cairo on Thursday.

The game will kick off at 4 p.m. Nigerian time.
