2026 WCQ: Chelle gives three reasons Nigeria’s clash with Zimbabwe won’t be easy

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle has given three reasons his side's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Worriors of Zimbabwe won't be easy.

Chelle's men will host Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The Super Eagles head to the encounter following a 2-0 victory against Rwanda last Friday while Zimbabwe drew 2-2 with Benin Republic.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the match on Tuesday, Chelle said Nigeria's clash with Zimbabwe won't be easy because Michael Nees' side have ‘a good team, good players and a good coach.'

“I'm proud of what my players did in Rwanda — it was very difficult, but they did the job,” Chelle told reporters on Monday.

“We had a good training session yesterday, so we need to go to the pitch again to prepare for the game tomorrow.

“It will not be easy because Zimbabwe have a good team, good players and a good coach.”

“This coach [Michael Nees] has a good game project, so we need to be focused on our team tomorrow,” he added.
