2026 WCQ: ‘His movement very intelligent’ – South African coach hails Osimhen

Published on March 22, 2025 at 07:25 PM

Sudesh Singh, a South African coach, has lauded Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen’s ability to be in the right place at the right time.

Singh said Osimhen's movement especially in the box of his opponent is very intelligent.

“The other thing is his movement in the box. It’s just like he’s in the kitchen,” Singh said on SuperSport.

“His movement is very intelligent. How to move, the anticipation and the arrival in the box.”;

Osimhen led Nigeria to beat Rwanda 2-0 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier played on Friday evening at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.

The 26-year-old gave the Super Eagles the lead in the 11th minute slotting home Ademola Lookman's free-kick.

The Napoli loanee then doubled the advantage for the Eagles in first half stoppage time.

He stole the ball from Thierry Manzi and went on a run before placing the ball beyond Rwanda goalkeeper Fabrice Ntwari.

Osimhen will now hope to continue his impressive display for Eric Chelle's side when they host the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday.
