2026 WCQ: Super Eagles stronger than us — Rwanda defender Mutsinzi

Published on March 22, 2025 at 05:06 PM

Rwanda defender Ange Mutsinzi claimed the Super Eagles were too strong for his side in Friday's encounter at the Amahoro Stadium.

Adel Amrouche's fell 2-0 to a defeat against the three-time African champions.

It was Rwanda's first-ever defeat to the Super Eagles at home.

Mutsinzi said the visitors were hungrier on the night.

“I think they (Nigeria) came strong, and they wanted to win. They deserve it, but they have a good team and good strikers,”; he said after the game.

“We have quality also, but we won the last game, and they won this game; who knows the next game.”;

Rwanda dropped to third position following the defeat.

They will host the Crocodiles of Lesotho in their next game on Tuesday.
