Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong has boasted about Eric Chelle's men ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Warriors of Zimbabwe.

Nigeria will host Zimbabwe in the World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday evening.

The three-time Africa champions head for the game following a 2-0 victory over Rwanda in their last game.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference on Monday evening ahead of the encounter, Troost-Ekong boasted that the Super Eagles has intelligent players in the team that are used to changing tactics.

“Thankfully we have a lot of intelligent players, a lot of players that play at a high level. They will be used to changing tactics,” Troost-Ekong said.

“The coaches said it before as well, we have a lot of quality in our team.

“So it’s not trying to explain to players how they need to play football.”

The current Super Eagles squad boast of the likes of current African Footballer of the Year, Ademola Lookman and also Victor Osimhen, who won the award before the Atalanta winger.

The kick-off time for the Nigeria versus Zimbabwe game is 5 pm.
