Published on April 12, 2025 at 07:23 PM

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested 88 individuals during coordinated night raids across various parts of Abuja, intelligence sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama.

The operations, which took place late Friday night at about 11:40 p.m., were executed by operatives from several police divisions, including Lokogoma, Maitama, Wuse, Kubwa, Gwagwa, Dutse Alhaji, Karmo, Dawaki, Wuye, Utako, and Bwari.

According to the Zagazola Makama, the raids focused on criminal black spots and uncompleted buildings suspected to be used as hideouts by criminal elements within these jurisdictions.

During the sweep, operatives recovered quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, along with other illicit substances.

All 88 suspects are being held in custody, undergoing screening and interrogation at their respective police divisions.

Makama further gathered that suspects found to be involved in criminal activities will be charged in court, while those cleared during investigation will be released.
