A1 CLOSED in both directions after horror three-car crash with vehicle ‘mounting pavement and ploughing into cafe’

THE A1 has closed in both directions after a horrific three-vehicle collision which reportedly involved a car mounting the pavement.

Upper Street, which the A1 runs along in Islington, London, has shut following the shocking crash which saw a car “plough into a cafe” at around 7.45am this morning.

Police, ambulance crews, and firefighters quickly rushed to the scene but it is currently unknown how many people have been injured.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “We are currently dealing with a three-vehicle road traffic collision on Upper Street in Islington.

“One vehicle collided with outdoor seating at a nearby café.

“Officers remain at the scene and are working to assess the circumstances.”;
