Published on March 30, 2025 at 05:33 AM

Abia State Harmonized Taskforce, ASHTF, Aba zone, weekend, enforced environmental sanitation compliance in Aba by sealing some shops whose owners did not clean their drainages.

Also, some comercial vehicles that constituted road obstructions were impounded by the task force, in collaboration with Abia State Environmental Protection Agency, ASEPA.

Disclosing the development in a statement, the Media Officer of ASHTF, Miracle Chukwunenye said that the actions were taken by the government agencies to maintain a clean and healthy environment.

He listed the areas where the operations took place as St. Michael's Road, Asa Road, Ama Awusa, among others and explained that the Harmonized Task Force was addressing waste management issues across the State.

“Shops found with dirty drainages and failing to meet sanitation standards have been sealed, serving as a deterrent to others.

“The enforcement of environmental sanitation compliance is a significant step towards achieving a clean and green Abia”, Chukwunenye said in the statement.
