AEW star Adam Page was rushed to hospital after suffering a concussion during a match on Tuesday night.
The 31-year-old wrestler faced off against Jon Moxley for the AEW Championship in Cincinnati, but the clash was brought to an abrupt end in worrying circumstances.
Moxley hit Page with a King Kong Lariat which flipped the American around and viciously down onto the mat.
The referee and ringside doctor went straight over to Page who was laid out on the canvas.
Moxley was declared the winner of the contest, before attention turned swiftly back to the welfare of Page.
Replays of the incident were not shown on the coverage, with promotional packages aired to fill time while Page was taken off on a stretcher.
AEW have since confirmed he has been discharged from hospital.
A statement released by the wrestling company read: “Hangman Adam Page was taken tonight by medical personnel to a Cincinnati trauma center and diagnosed with a concussion.
“He was discharged, but will remain in AEW’s concussion protocol.
“AEW and Hangman Page are grateful for the exemplary response and care of staff and local medical personnel, and are appreciative of the love and support of fans everywhere.”
The wrestling world rallied around Page immediately after the incident, giving their support to the AEW star.
WWE legend Mick Foley said: “Prayers for Adam Page 🙏.”
While Big E added a similar message, posting: “Praying for Hangman.”
Other wrestling fans added to that sentiment with one saying: “God help Adam Page. He is a good man who has changed the lives of so many, including myself. He’s a family man who just had a kid.
“Heartbreaking and I hope he makes it out alright. I am so sad for him.”
And another added: “Prayers up for Hangman. He’s got a wife and young son at home that need him healthy.”
