ALDI has been crowned the cheapest supermarket in the UK for four years running, according to Which?.
But there are still savings to be had on your weekly shop.
Aldi has won the Cheapest Supermarket gong for four years runningJulie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, has shared her advice on how to save
Julie Ashfield, the Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, has exclusively told the offers to look out for and deals to take advantage of to save big.
Hunt for red stickers
Instead of yellow stickers, Aldi uses red stickers to highlight its food reductions.
Perishable products such as bread, meat and fresh produce are reduced in price by up to 75% on their last day of life.
Items such as rice, pasta, cereal and tinned food may also be marked down if the packaging has been damaged, and customers can expect a discount of up to 30%.
The times that items are reduced vary by store – some customers say they spot the discounted items between 10:00 and 11:00, an Aldi employee said the red stickers hit items around 16:30, whereas a store assistant says two hours before the store closes.
So it might take you a few trips at different times to your local store to work out when they hit the shelves.
Look out for Super Six
Every two weeks, Aldi announces six of its favourite fruit or veg products that will be available to shoppers at super-low prices.
And if you're wondering how the supermarket can sell them for pennies, don't fear, the suppliers are still getting a fair price. Aldi says the supermarket works with British growers on a seasonal or annual fixed cost price.
Every two weeks, a selection of seasonal fruits and veg are on offer
What's more, the budget retailer also guarantees fresh fruit and veg, or your money back.So if you're not happy, simply return the item to the store for a refund.
To keep up to date with the Super Six changes, customers can pick up the leaflets or check them out online.
The next Super Six Deal will run from 3rd-14th April, and will include the following product discounts:
Plums (89p, 400g) – was £1.29, saving 31%â¯
