Alleged duress: “Read from the text I wrote” – Nwaeke filmed being directed to address press [VIDEO]

Amid speculations that the former Head of Service in Rivers State, George Nwaeke made the recent allegations against suspended Governor of Rivers State Siminalayi Fubara under duress, a video clip that captured him being directed on how to address journalists has emerged online.

DAILY POST reports that Nwaeke had in a press conference on Friday, made some shocking allegations against Governor Fubara.

Among several allegations, Nwaeke claimed that Fubara orchestrated the bombing of the State House of Assembly complex.

The former Head of Service, who also alleged that Fubara planned to destroy oil facilities in the Niger Delta, said there were plots by the Rivers Government to pull down President Bola Tinubu-led government.

Shortly after the press conference, his wife, Florence Nwaeke, called for help over the whereabouts of her husband.

Speaking to journalists late Friday, Mrs Florence expressed fears for her husband's safety, stating that Nwaeke could be under duress to make the allegations.

“When he got to Abuja, he called that he had landed. I said, Thank God,”; she said.

However, she said she later saw an online interview granted by her husband, which she found suspicious.

“I said, ‘That is not my husband. That is not my husband.’

“So I sent him a message. I said, ‘Are you under duress?’ I sent him a message. I said, ‘Have they kidnapped you? Talk to me now. Why are you not talking to me?’ This is the message I sent to him when I saw his interview online,”; she said.

She added, “Oh, Jesus, help me. Nigerians, help me. My husband is in trouble. My husband is in trouble. My husband is in trouble. My husband is in trouble.

The pre-address video clip has fueled speculations that the allegations were politically motivated.

In the video, a voice could be heard from the background telling the former Head of Service to “read from the text I wrote”.
