Amotekun parades 58 suspected kidnappers, others in Ondo

Following the spate of insecurity ravaging Ondo, the state Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, has paraded 58 suspects involved in kidnapping and other crimes.

With the kidnap suspect arrested in areas prone to attacks, the Commander of Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, revealed that among those arrested were 32 kidnap suspects picked up within the past week.

Disclosing this at the weekend while parading the suspects, Adeleye explained that his men mobilised reinforcements from various parts of the state to launch operations into the criminal enclaves.

According to him, the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation, adding that security agencies in the state remain committed to flushing out criminals from both forests and urban centres.

“In recent times, we have had an upsurge of criminal activities in Ondo State; the officers and men of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, mobilised additional support from the neighbouring local government and entered into the forest reserves and areas noted for these nefarious activities.

“In the last week, we were able to arrest 32 suspects for kidnapping who are currently undergoing interrogation. We have a total of 58 people that we are parading today. We want to reassure the residents of Ondo State with the efforts put in place by the government of Ondo State.

“As a result of the recent killings in the Akure North axis, officers and men of all the security agencies, including Amotekun, had been parading the area, and I am glad to let you know that as we talk, normalcy has been returned to the area.”
