Anambra Guber: AAC elects woman to run against Soludo in November poll

African Action Congress (AAC) has elected Miss Chioma Ifemeludike as its candidate for the November governorship election in Anambra State.

Ifemeludike was elected during the party's primary election.

She will be expected to run against the incumbent governor of the state, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, alongside candidates of other political parties.

The National Chairman of AAC, Comrade Omoyele Sowore, was represented at the event by the National Treasurer of the party, Dr Sam Ajeigbe.

The chairman of the election committee, Mr Oshiokhe Ikpeminoghena, said it was the constitutional responsibility of the party to field a candidate for the election and that Ifemeludike fulfilled every necessary step that qualifies her to run for the Anambra governorship election.

In her acceptance speech, Ifemeludike promised not to disappoint the trust bestowed on her by party supporters.

She noted that the party will make sure that the people of Anambra State, especially women, children and youths are empowered to become better citizens of the nation.

Miss Ifemeludike who hails from Eziowele, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

She was unanimously elected through affirmation vote by members of the congress.
