Another truck crashes on Abuja-Keffi expressway

Published on March 20, 2025 at 10:49 PM

Barely 24 hours after a CNG-laden tanker collapsed near Karu Bridge along the Abuja-Keffi Expressway, another fertilizer-laden truck has crashed at the same location.

The accident occurred at about 3:54 PM on Thursday, March 20, 2025, involving a fertilizer truck, a Hijet vehicle, and a dump truck (tipper).

Fortunately, no lives were lost in the incident.

The Head of Public Affairs at the FCT Emergency Management Department, Nkechi Isa, confirmed the accident in a statement, urging motorists to drive cautiously.

She also noted that the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) was working to clear the wreckage and prevent further traffic congestion.

Eyewitness footage showed bystanders attempting to remove fertilizer bags from the fallen truck to ease the flow of traffic.

Authorities have reiterated warnings about reckless driving and overloading, which are common causes of road accidents along the Abuja-Keffi corridor.
