APC laments incessant attacks on Zamfara communities

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has bemoaned the ongoing attacks on communities in the state, lamenting the state government’s perceived indifference to the situation.

This is according to a statement issued by the state State APC Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris, on Wednesday in Gusau.

Idris was responding to a recent bandit attack in the state’s Zurmi Local Government Area, which resulted in the killing and kidnapping of innocent people.

“We condole the families of those who lost their lives in the unfortunate attacks.

“We pray to Allah to accommodate them in Jannaatu Firdausi and give their families the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

“We will continue to push the governments at all levels to ensure the return of lasting peace in all our communities.

“We will also continue to assist in our best efforts to cushion the effects of the suffering faced by our people”;, he said.

The APC spokesperson also raised concern about the ongoing attacks on communities and security officers, which have resulted in the deaths of innocent people and the destruction of property.

Meanwhile, in a statement published by Sulaiman Bala, Governor Dauda Lawal’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, he decried the rise in banditry across the state, expressing concern over attacks on communities throughout the state, notably in Zurmi, Maru, and Tsafe LGAs.
