Unidentified hoodlums wielding cutlasses and firearms reportedly attacked the family residence of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in the early hours of Tuesday, April 16, in the Obeiba-Ihima community, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
According to intelligence sources who spoke with Zagazola Makama, the senator’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, reported the incident to security authorities.
He stated that the attack took place around 1:00 a.m. and involved at least three armed individuals who vandalized parts of the building, including smashing several windows.
Following a distress call, security operatives from the Okehi Division swiftly responded and moved to the scene.
Although no casualties were recorded and no suspects have been apprehended so far, security personnel documented the damage and have launched a preliminary investigation.
Police sources noted that the motive for the attack remains unclear as investigations are still ongoing.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central in the Senate, is yet to release an official statement regarding the incident at the time of filing this report.
