Arokodare wins battle of Super Eagles in Belgium

Published on March 30, 2025 at 08:58 PM

Tolu Arokodare came out on top against his Super Eagles teammate Jordan Torunarigha as KRC Genk thrashed KAA Gent 4-0 in the Belgian Pro League Championship playoff.

Arokodare had a goal ruled out for offside in the 28th minute.

However, the striker found the back of the net five minutes after the break, scoring Genk's second goal of the match.

It was the 24-year-old’s 18th league goal of the season for the Smurfs.

Arokodare featured for 70 minutes before being replaced by South Korean international Oh Hyeon-Gyu.

Centre-back Torunarigha played the full 90 minutes for Gent.
