Former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and a chieftain of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Nasir El-Rufai on Friday stormed Kaduna for a meeting.
Atiku, El-Rufai and former Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal are in Kaduna for a meeting of key opposition politicians.
This was disclosed by a staunch supporter of El-Rufai, Imran Wakili via a post on X.
He wrote: “Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, alongside former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other key opposition stakeholders, has stormed Kaduna State to meet with the state's opposition figures.”
Atiku, El-Rufai and Peter Obi of the Labour Party had formed a coalition with the aim of removing President Bola Tinubu from power in 2027.
The former vice president announced the formation of the coalition during a press conference by Concerned Leaders and Political Stakeholders in Nigeria.
Following the announcement, a former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Adewale Adebayo, said .
He said if Atiku, Obi and other prominent politicians willing to join SDP can stick to the party's culture, they would defeat and retire Tinubu and the APC.
Meanwhile, a chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Buba Galadima said El-Rufai was Atiku's placeholder in the SDP should the PDP deny him its presidential ticket.
