Bandits dump corpses at village entrance after taking revenge on Katsina community

Published on April 10, 2025 at 04:56 PM

A brutal act of retribution has left Tafoki village in shock. In a calculated revenge attack, suspected bandits dumped several corpses at the entrance of the small community in the Fasakari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Local sources reveal that the assailants, mostly young men in their 20s, arrived in the village on April 9, 2025. They strategically positioned the bodies—a chilling reminder of the conflict—right at the village entrance.

This violent episode is believed to be a response to the earlier killing of three bandits by villagers in February 2025, an incident in which the notorious bandit leader, Goje, played a central role before his demise.

Zagazola Makaman reports that the bandits have escalated their tactics. In recent attacks, villagers have been abducted, tied up, and executed with gunshots to the head.

After committing these acts, the criminals return the bodies to the village, further deepening the community’s suffering.

Families, now grappling with the heart-wrenching task of recovering the decomposing remains of their loved ones, are left to process the trauma of losing their kin in such a violent and public manner.

The ongoing violence underscores the perilous situation in the region, as Tafoki villagers face the harsh reality of unchecked banditry and retributive justice.
