BBC spin-off drama The Split Up is on its way back to the small screen after being paused indefinitely.
Last year, the legal series was stopped in its tracks in a shock U-turn just weeks before filming was due to take place.


In unwelcome news, bosses working on paused production on its sister series for editorial reasons.
However, the BBC and production company Sister are now in pre-production for the six-part series with filming due to commence this October in .
The Split Up’s story is based on characters created by Ursula Rani Sarma (Smother, Delicious).
The new spin-off series is set to explore ‘the weight of parental expectations, the forces that keep families together and the truths that tear them apart'.
It will focus on the Kishan family of lawyers who run a high-stakes law firm in Manchester.
The original 2022 series The Split was created by Abi Morgan.
Morgan is best known for her work including, River, The Hour, Suffragette, Shame, Sex Traffic and The Iron Lady.
The original series followed the lives of three sisters in and out of the courtroom as they represented clients going through divorces and also dealt with their own private heartbreak.
r, , Fiona Button and Deborah Findlay all starred in the drama alongside The Fortune Hotel's .
Fans last saw the Defoe family back in 2022.

The original series of The Split ran for three series with a two-part special The Split: Barcelona concluding the drama.
