BEAU GREAVES has opened up on her struggles with dartitis – and admits she was ready to throw her arrows “in the river”.
The 21-year-old sensation is currently dominating the standings in the PDC Women's Series.
Greaves is one of the sport's most exciting young talents and .
But she has also struggled with anxiety on stage in recent months.
The Doncaster native admitted she wasn't feeling her best at last weekend's PDC Women's Series in Rosmalen.
Greaves said: “Everything felt so hard and tiring.”
Despite her struggles, Beau still walked away with a record-extending 34th title after dispatching Ireland's Robyn Byrne.
She continued: “Nothing was going in but I'm obviously over the moon to come out with the title.
“I was really suffering, and I was just ready to throw my darts in the river to be fair.
“It’s not how I want to win them. I have been so inconsistent.
“Yesterday summed it up. I averaged 90 and then 70 later in the day.
“It’s not good darts for me and I’m probably just lacking a bit of confidence.I’m getting over it and trying to get through it.”
Greaves admits she is struggling with consistency and took a week away from darts to try to cure it.
She continued: “I played the Development Tour played well and won a tournament.
“Then I woke up on the Saturday morning and something just felt wrong.
“I decided I am not going to play the ProTour. I felt like I wasn’t ready to play and felt a lot of anxiety. I was dreading it.
“I had a week at home but if anything, it made me worse. The inconsistency is frustrating me. I’ve been struggling recently.
“With my dartitis it’s tough and sometimes that gets the better of me.
“I have been to the doctors about it before and it has helped but it also hasn’t.
“But to win one Women’s Series title this weekend gives me some confidence heading into whatever I play next.”
