Belgium: Arokodare, Onyedika nominated for best African player award

Super Eagles stars, Tolu Arokodare and Raphael Onyedika have been nominated for the prestigious Ebony Shoe Award in the Belgian Pro League.

The Ebony Shoe is an annual award presented to the best footballer of African descent in the Belgian top-flight.

Union Saint-Gillloise's Nigerian-born striker, Promise David, Congo International, Noah Sadki and Morocco winger, Zakaria El Ouahdi are the other players nominated for the award.

Arokodare has racked 20 goals and five assists in 35 league appearances for KRC Genk this season.

Onyedika has starred for champions Club Brugge domestically and in Europe.

The defensive midfielder has registered two goals and two assists in 47 appearances across all competitions for Brugge.

The winner will be named on Monday, 12 May in Brussels.

Paul Onuachu was the last Nigerian to win the award.
