Belgium World Cup exit: Thierry Henry consoles Lukaku as Chelsea striker breaks down in tears

Published on December 01, 2022 at 08:18 PM

Inter Milan striker, Romelu Lukaku, broke down in tears on Thursday evening after the Belgium crashed out of the World Cup in Qatar

Belgium was dumped out of the competition following a goalless draw with Croatia and Morocco’s 2-1 win over Canada.

Morocco finished as winner of Group F while Croatia came second, confirming an early exit for Roberto Martinez’s side.

Lukaku came on in the second-half as the World’s number two national team looked for the equalising goal against Croatia.

The Chelsea striker, on loan at Inter Milan this season, missed three big chances to give Belgium the lead and as the full-time whistle went, was consoled by Belgium assistant and former France international Thierry Henry as he left the pitch in tears.
