Best UK betting apps for 2025
Reviews of the best betting apps in the UK
All the apps listed on this page are from reputable bookmakers who are fully licensed and regulated in the UK. They are safe, secure and compliant with UK gambling regulations, meaning we know they are trustworthy and play by the rules.
But all apps are subtly different. Some are better for odds, some for live streaming, while others are slightly easier to navigate. Below I go into more detail about what I think about all the betting apps listed in this review.
1. bet365
- Our rating: 4.78
- Google Play rating: 4.6
- App Store rating: 4.7
When I look for an app with live streaming, I look no further than bet365. They have by far the best live streaming in my view, covering top football leagues like the Bundesliga as well as top tennis events including Grand Slams.
From a betting perspective, bet365 ticks all the right boxes. They cover a huge range of sports, and they are especially good for football betting, an area in which they really excel.
Overall, this is my favourite betting app. And looking at the online ratings and reviews, I’m not alone in that opinion.
2. Coral
- Our rating: 4.58
- Google Play rating: 4.5
- App Store rating: 4.6
Coral is another of the well-respected traditional UK bookmaking brands that have been on the scene for years. Like all their competitors, Coral has an easy-to-use interface and offers a wide range of sports and in-play markets.
I especially like Coral’s daily offers for both new and existing customers. There is the Rewards Grabber, where you have the chance to play free games that win Coral Coins, and these coins can be used to claim free casino spins and free bets on sports such as football.
Another daily offer from Coral is their Rewards Shaker. This is another good innovation where you shake your phone for a reward. The only downside is it almost always awards you a price boost, but not always on an event you might want to bet on. Overall, it’s a solid betting app.
3. BetMGM
- Our rating: 4.50
- Google Play rating: 4.3
- App Store rating: 4.4
Established in 2018, the US brand is now attempting to conquer the UK market. BetMGM is the sponsor of the 2025 Premier League Darts season and they also have a brand association with Newcastle United.
But, what about their app? Well, as a new kid on the block, BetMGM has invested heavily in modern technology and has an app that is the equal of the more established brands, if not better. It certainly has a silky smooth look and offers everything I would expect to get from a top-quality bookmaker.
The BetMGM app has adequate streaming, including horse racing, football and tennis and also offers cash out, partial cash out and all the usual stuff like acca insurance and odds boosts. The only negative is that it could improve UK sports coverage. But, if you love betting on American sports, this is the perfect app for you.
And one final thought, as a relatively new player in the UK market, BetMGM is only going to improve as it learns what works and what doesn’t.
4. 888 Sport
- Our rating: 4.48
- Google Play rating: 4.4
- App Store rating: 4.5
888 Sport is one of those betting apps that seems to go somewhat under the radar. The company is part of the 888 group which has been an established gaming brand since 1997.
The 888 Sports betting app is fine to use and offers everything that the top household name bookmakers do. The big difference is that 888 doesn’t market itself as well as some of the other brands. Don’t let that put you off. Their ratings are solid on both Android and iOS and we also rate them highly.
888 Sport has a good welcome bonus and they also offer live streaming, odds boosts, acca insurance, and all the usual stuff you will expect to receive from a reputable bookmaking brand.
5. BetVictor
- Our rating: 4.68
- Google Play rating: 3.1
- App Store rating: 4.7
One of the first things that stands out about the BetVictor app is the low ratings approval from Google.
There have been some stories of the app crashing on Android devices, but I can’t say I’ve experienced this happening. That said, compatibility issues must be affecting some people.
The bonuses are clear and easy to understand, and judging by the App Store reviews, there is little problem using the app when it is working as it should.
BetVictor is another of the established UK brands that have been on the scene for over 70 years. One negative we found was that the live streaming could be more varied. But overall the app was fine, and like all the top UK brands, there were plenty of sports to choose from and adequate markets in each of them.
6. Betway
- Our rating: 4.40
- Google Play rating: 4.6
- App Store rating: 4.8
Another of the newer bookmakers, Betway, was established in 2006. The company has a brand association with West Ham and has made huge strides in recent years to establish itself in the UK gaming market.
The Betway app ranks slightly better with Apple users than it does Android, but there is little difference. Our own rating is slightly lower than both. This is down to the limited customer support that does have room for improvement.
Overall, it’s another solid betting app that does everything you need it to. It’s great if you like betting on cricket, but there are better apps for football betting listed on this page.
7. Betano
- Our rating: 4.38
- Google Play rating: 4.4
- App Store rating: 4.8
Betano has made a huge splash in the UK betting industry over the past 18 months. After coming to the attention of UK gamblers with their involvement in Euro 2024 and last year’s Copa America, Betano has continued to raise their profile by becoming the official betting partner of Aston Villa and the official sponsor of the 2024/25 Europa League and Europa Conference League.
The Betano betting app is rating well with users, particularly on iOS. I found their app to be fine and adequate, but it wasn’t one that jumped out and demanded that I use it. Nevertheless, there was nothing wrong with it, I just found it wasn’t as appealing as some of the others.
With the level of investment the company is making in building its brand, I wouldn’t be shocked to see a shiny new app appear any time soon.
8. SBK
- Our rating: 4.33
- Google Play rating: 3.5
- App Store rating: 4.6
SBK is by far better to use on the app than it is on the desktop. That’s not to praise the app too much, there is little special about it, but it ticks all the required boxes and does what it says on the tin.
The main reasons for using SBK are their competitive odds and the sheer amount of markets they offer. There are 25+ sports and topics to bet on, with numerous markets available for all events.
There are no gimmicks with this company. And as a lesser-known brand, they certainly don’t spend their budget on marketing. The biggest attraction to SBK is its simplicity, competitive odds, and variation of markets.
9. BetUK
- Our rating: 4.33
- Google Play rating: 4.3
- App Store rating: 4.6
Part of the LeoVegas group, BetUK has been active in the British market since 2018. The brand is still young and it’s fair to say, it’s still learning. There are reports on Trustpilot of basic things going wrong, but there is plenty praising the app for being up to scratch and working well.
I find BetUK is one of those bookmakers that I notice, but it doesn’t leap out at me as a first-choice platform to place my wagers. Maybe this is down to a lack of marketing, brand building and eye-catching promotions.
Overall, the BetUK app is fine. It covers all the basics and has live streaming and best odds guaranteed. You won’t go wrong with it.
10. Tote
- Our rating: 4.3
- Google Play rating: 4.6
- App Store rating: 4.6
Tote is a brand that disappeared from our streets when they were taken over by Betfred in the early 2000s. It is now back and trying to break into the UK betting industry again with its unique Tote betting options.
Offering Tote bets makes this app perfect for horse racing fans. But elsewhere, there is room for improvement.
My biggest moan is some of their football betting markets could be easier to navigate. For example, if I want to place a bet on a player to score or assist, I have to scroll through numerous markets to get to the bet I want to place.
Not the biggest gripe, but something that can be improved. Overall, the Tote app was fine to use and I would have no problem recommending it, especially to punters who prefer betting on horses.
11. Unibet
- Our rating: 4.28
- Google Play rating: 4.1
- App Store rating: 4.1
Another bookmaker that fits into the ‘work in progress’ category. Unibet’s customer service takes a battering on review sites, with the company not even attempting to explain themselves or their actions.
But it’s not all bad. Where they lack in one area, Unibet seems to excel in others. The app is easy to use, and like with all the apps in this review, it does what you expect and need it to.
Unibet’s live streaming is also exceptional with Unibet TV, and one thing I really do love is the option to bet live and watch the stream at the same time. Other sites that offer live streaming don’t always get that part right, meaning you have to open new screens or pages to place a bet.
12. Spreadex
- Our rating: 4.2
- Google Play rating: 4.3
- App Store rating: 4.7
Spreadex is perhaps a bit unfortunate to be down at No.15. A positive is it offers both sportsbook betting and spread betting, but our rating is lower than Google and Apple because their odds could be better and we feel they are short on the amount of sports they cover.
But punters seem to love Spreadex. They’ve got a decent rating on Trustpilot (where they are active), and bettors like their live streaming, their stats centre, and all the information they offer on the event.
I have to confess I love their statistics centre, especially for football betting. For example, if you are betting on a player to be booked, you just click on the name and all their details appear on a pop-up screen. It’s great and gives you an advantage when you are making your selections.
The app is fine. It’s nothing special, but it works well, is easy to navigate, and I have no complaints.
13. Kwiff
- Our rating: 4.18
- Google Play rating: 4.3
- App Store rating: 4.6
Kwiff doesn’t cover a wide range of sports that others do and they don’t offer basics like best odds guaranteed. But what Kwiff does do, is offer a no-frills betting experience that gives you the chance to get your bets boosted, or as they call it, Kwiffed.
Don’t let the shortage of sports covered on the Kwiff app put you off. The sign-up process is smooth, there is a decent welcome bonus, the app is user-friendly, and as a newer company, it is polished and looks the part.
The best part of Kwiff is the chance to get your bet boosted. Kwiff boasts that 90% of their users had bets boosted in February 2025. Joining is worthwhile for that reason alone.
14. LiveScore Bet
- Our rating: 4.13
- Google Play rating: 4.2
- App Store rating: 4.7
There are one or two negatives with LiveScore Bet, but overall, there are plenty of positives.
Starting with the negatives, and their odds don’t jump out and demand you use them. There is also a lack of daily offers to keep you interested on quiet betting days.
The positives are that LiveScore Bet is one of the easier and smoother apps to use that we have reviewed on this page. The bookmaker also makes an effort to reply to negative remarks left on review sites and attempts to explain itself in detail.
LiveScore Bet has plenty of live-streaming options, including tennis, badminton, horse racing, football and basketball. They also have regular football money-back specials for new and existing customers, and I really love their 5+ match acca offer where you get paid out in full as a winner if all your teams were winning at half-time.
The LiveScore Bet app is a must-have if you like football betting.
How we picked the best betting apps
As I mentioned in my introduction, I am not just looking for the easiest app to use with the best betting offers. The list of criteria I use to judge an app is extensive. It covers everything from licensing and regulation, to how easy it is to place my Bet Builder or watch the 3.30 from Kempton on live streaming. This plays a role in my rating of an app, with user feedback also taken into consideration.
We also use Flying Eze Factor our unique ranking system to determine if a bookmaker or a casino has what it takes to be showcased to our readers.
ð Licensing, regulation, and security
Starting with the most important things first, all the apps I have recommended possess licences issued by the UKGC.
UKGC stands for the UK Gambling Commission, a government-backed organisation that ensures all betting platforms follow a strict set of rules. These rules are designed to protect you and ensure fair play.
In order to check the betting platforms are doing as they say they are, the UKGC conducts regular audits of all sites, ensuring they are looking after their customers.
This includes checks for having adequate cyber security, ensuring fairness, implementing anti-money laundering practices, verifying your age through KYC and also looking after your data.
Having timeout options and making them easy to find is also crucial, and something the UKGC will also make sure is available to players.
ð Competitive odds and selection of betting markets
Betting apps can offer all sorts of gimmicks and sign-up offers.
Ultimately, they will live or die on the standard of their product. And in the case of betting, that equates to the amount of betting markets they offer, and the competitiveness of their odds within those markets.
It’s not the perfect case of one size fits all. Some bookmakers cover some sports better than others. Personally, I like cricket, so I look for an app that covers that in more detail. You might prefer hurling or the NHL.
Our recommended apps cover the main sports in detail and offer more than enough markets to bet on. But you may need to dig a bit deeper to find the ideal one for you.
ð³ Payment methods and fast payouts
This is an area that nearly every sportsbook and betting app has tightened up on in recent years.
All of our recommended betting apps have numerous deposit methods such as debit cards, bank transfers, e-wallets, and prepayment cards, along with Apple Pay and Android Pay. They also offer fast and instant withdrawals.
This area of sports betting is a bit like getting out of bed in the morning. It’s basic stuff. If the betting sites can’t get that right, then what is the point of using them?
ð± App user interface and experience
A couple of hugely important factors in a good betting app are how easy it is to use and how easy it is to place a bet. In other words, is it user-friendly?
If the app is offering boosted odds or a free bet, you shouldn't have to go looking for it, it should be there for you to use when you open your bet slip.
You also shouldn’t have to spend ages navigating to your chosen betting market.
A quick route to the football match you wish to bet on shouldn't be an issue. For example, you don’t want to have to scroll through six screens to get to the Premier League betting page.
Load times are also extremely important. Waiting ages for a screen to open so you can place your bet in play is no longer an option.
ð° Betting promotions and bonuses
Regular promotions and bonuses are a must in 2025. This includes existing customers, not just new ones.
Our recommended betting apps all offer regular promotions like price boosts, enhanced payouts on winning acca bets, bet builders, free bets, and a lot now also offer free daily games for players to try their luck on.
Everyone loves a freebie. And thanks to the competitive nature of the UK sports betting market, when one bookie gives us an offer, the rest have to follow.
ðº Live streaming
The only thing that can beat your bet winning, is watching it happen live. And that’s what makes live streaming so exciting.
Unfortunately, we can’t get the Premier League on live streaming, but we do get access to a whole host of top-quality sports action from across the globe.
Anyone betting on UK or Irish horse racing can expect to watch the race on live streaming. You can also expect to watch football from across Europe and South America, grand slam tennis events, NBA, snooker, darts, and badminton – just to name a few.
Some of the betting apps we recommend even offer streaming schedules so you can plan what sport you wish to bet on and watch.
âï¸ Customer Support
The days of walking into your betting shop and having a moan are long gone. There are still some high-street bookmakers in the UK and Ireland, but on the whole, everything has now gone online.
With plenty of options to choose from, bookmakers can no longer expect us to keep coming back if we have a bad experience. Therefore, they have to offer us a higher level of customer service.
We are talking top-quality around-the-clock reliable customer support, with options like live chat, email, or phone support for the very minimum requirement.
All our bookmakers are UKGC-regulated so they have to offer this high level of customer service, allowing you to bet with confidence.
Advantages and disadvantages of mobile betting apps
Mobile betting apps have changed the face of online gambling. They have enhanced the user experience and as the technology increases, so does the range of benefits we get from using apps, such as live in-play statistics and even the quality of live streaming. But apps are not perfect. So below we look in more detail at the advantages and the disadvantages of using sports betting apps.
ð Advantages of betting apps
- Convenience – Online behaviour is now evolving. We do nearly everything on our mobile devices, such as online banking, ordering food and paying our bills. We now want to be able to place bets with similar ease. Betting apps have had to improve to keep pace with society’s needs, meaning we can now bet from our sofas, on public transport, or even at sporting events.
- Great user experience – Improvements in technology have resulted in better betting apps and better user experiences. We want the same level of quality and coverage on our mobile that we used to get on our desktop computers. Betting apps give us that quality. And if the bookmakers don’t keep improving their products, they risk losing players to bingo sites and online casinos.
- Improved betting offers – Betting promotions are rife. But they are also available on casino apps and gaming apps, which are now competing with the bookmakers for our custom. As a result, some betting sites will occasionally offer a better deal if you sign up through the app. We can expect to see better offers for downloading and signing up through apps become more popular in the future.
- Free games – This is the case on both betting apps and online websites. The bookmakers can no longer take punters for granted and expect us just to bet with them. They need to entertain us and expand beyond expecting us to just place a wager on the 1.50 at Cheltenham. Betting apps now offer free games allowing you to do more than just bet with real money.
ð Disadvantages of betting apps
- A bit too convenient in the wrong environment – While the convenience of a betting app can be a pro, it can also be a con if used in the wrong place at the wrong time. For example, you have to be very disciplined with a sports betting app. The fact that you can use it anywhere means you can use it in places like pubs, where you may not always be fully in control of what you are doing if you’ve had a few drinks.
- Losing your mobile phone – Always make sure your mobile phone is secure and that all your apps log themselves out after a short period of time. Losing your mobile in 2025 is a serious business, our whole lives are on these devices. The last thing you need is an unscrupulous character gaining access to all your financial institutions, including any bookmaker accounts.
Q&A about betting apps in the UK
When we hear the words betting apps it can be confusing to new and even some experienced bettors. Many wonder is it different to online betting? Not really, is the answer. But for some, using an app feels like a step into the unknown. There is no need to worry, though. It’s simple and very similar to online betting. The only real difference is the platform – you’re using an app, rather than the bookmaker’s website. Below, we answer some common questions to show you how easy it is to wager using a betting app:
1. How do I choose the best betting app?
The best way to choose the best betting app for you is to read our review, use the apps, and decide which one you prefer. All the betting apps on this page are top-quality products from UK-licensed and regulated betting companies. In other words, you can use any or even all of them. They are all of similar quality, and all pretty much do the same thing. The best betting app is down to your own preference.
2. Are betting apps safe to use?
Yes, all the betting apps listed on this page are safe to use. All the apps we recommend comply with UKGC standards, meaning they are fully licensed, regulated, and implement top-level online safety procedures. But, as we pointed out in our ‘Advantages and disadvantages of mobile betting apps’ section, you also have to be disciplined and responsible for your own actions when using a sports betting app.
3. Can I bet live using these apps?
Yes, you can bet live using these apps. And this is one of the greatest things about using them. You can now be watching a football match on TV and just pick up your phone and place a bet in play. Betting apps mean you no longer have to take the walk to your desktop in the middle of the match to place your in-play wager. Or if you are out, you no longer need to phone up someone at home and ask them to do it for you.
4. Do betting apps offer bonuses or promotions?
Yes, betting apps do come with bonuses and promotions. In general, if a bookmaker is offering a promotion from their online site, the same promotion should be available on your app. You may even get an improved offer using the app. As we covered earlier, it can be possible to get a better offer by signing up through an app. Some betting sites with casino platforms may also offer free spins as well as a welcome bonus. It is always worth checking all available sign-up options on your desktop and on your app to see which one offers the best value.
5. Can I withdraw my winnings easily from an app?
Yes, withdrawing money from your betting account via an app is both possible and easy to do. The betting app is designed to make betting easy, while not sacrificing any of the options and offers available on desktop sites. The apps may not cover everything available on a desktop site, but they cover the basics like deposits and withdrawals. Furthermore, they are only going to get better in the future.
