CBeebies show Bluey is set for a big a shake-upThe beloved cartoon follows an imaginative puppy and her familyA special treat is on the way for CBeebies and iPlayer viewers
The title character – an Australian Cattle Dog – lives with her Mum, Dad and little sister Bingo.
Usually, episodes air for seven minutes, however, a 28-minute special called “The Sign” is imminent.
This instalment will land on CBeebies and iPlayer on April 18 – Good Friday.
In the story, the Heelers' family home is up for sale and Bluey is unhappy.
Her teacher Calypso offers comfort by sharing a proverb about a farmer who trusts everything will turn out the way it’s meant to be.
The very next day, the Heeler home is prepping for Frisky’s wedding.
But when it’s revealed Rad is planning a move out west after the wedding, Frisky runs away.
Now Bluey has to experience her own farmer’s proverb.
The Sign, written by show creator Joe Brumm, already aired on Australian TV last year.
It won a Kidscreen Award in 2025 for Best One-Off, Special or TV Movie in Preschool Programming.
The voice talent includes Dave McCormack and Melanie Zanetti as the voices of Dad (Bandit) and Mum (Chilli).
Also making returns are Patrick Brammall as the voice of Uncle Rad alongside Megan Washington as Calypso, Claudia O’Doherty as Frisky, Myf Warhurst as Trixie; and Rose Byrne as Brandy.
Making theirBlueyvoice debuts are Rove McManus, Deborah Mailman, Brendan Williams and Joel Edgerton.

What is Bluey and why are kids obsessed with it?
BLUEY has become a fan-favourite series across the globe. Created and released on ABC in Australia, it also airs internationally on Disney+.
The series follows the Heelers, an adorable dog family living in Australia. Bluey takes the lead alongside her mum Chilli, dad Bandit and sister Bingo.
Bluey has become essential viewing for preschoolers and their parents.
Shown in 60 countries across the world, it was the most-streamed series in January and February and the second most viewed programme in the US in 2023.
On why the family show is so popular, Dannii has said: “There is life before Bluey, and life after. Once you know Blueyâ.â.â.ââyou are hooked.
“It is fun for so many ages, as we can all relate to different members of Bluey’s family.”;
Its success has also spawned a theme park in Australia, its own land at Alton Towers and stage show spin-offs.
Podcast couple Chris and Rosie Ramsey admitted being in tears at the end of the extra-long one-off episode.

As well as The Sign, 13 Bluey episodes new to CBeebies will be available on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer from April 7.
Among these are ‘Ghostbasket’and ‘Surprise’,which can be watched alongside ‘The Sign’ as part of a trilogy, with ‘Ghostbasket’ going before and ‘Surprise’ after.
Bluey airs daily on CBeebies and all episodes are also available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
