CAMBRIDGE and Oxford resume their rivalry in the university Boat Race THIS SUNDAY!
, relations between the two have only become worse in the lead-up to this year's competition.

The current Ford controversy follows the exclusion of four Cambridge University team members for pursuing PGCE degrees, which argued rendered them unable to row.
With the exception of significant interruptions during times of war, it has been an almost annual custom since 1856.
Since moving to its present location in 1845, the has grown to become one of the most well-known events in British sport.
Since 2015, the women's race has been run on the same Tideway course as the men's race, which was originally competed in in 1927.
The Boat Race never fails to enthral viewers in the UK and throughout the world with its intense rivalries, top athletes, and thrilling on-water contests.
The records now stand at 87-81 for the men and 48-30 for the Cambridge women after the Light Blues won both races in 2024.
As usual, we can anticipate intense competition in 2025 as Oxford looks to turn around their recent performance.

When is Boat Race 2025 starting?
The boat race's date varies each year, depending on tides, academic schedules, and other London events.
That being said, this year's event will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
There are four races in total, with two reserve events taking place after the women's race and before the men's.

- 1.36pm: Women's reserve race: Osiris against Blondie
- 1.51pm: Men's reserve race: Isis vs Goldie
- 2.21pm: 170th Men's Boat Race
