Published on March 24, 2025 at 01:13 PM

The Borno State Police Command has confirmed that two child abuse victims, Hauwa Mohammed Goni and Ummina Hajara Mohammed Goni, have been discharged from the hospital and are now recovering.

The Borno State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Nahum Kenneth Daso, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victims in a post on his X handle.

The young girls were subjected to cruel treatment by a couple in a case that went viral last week, sparking widespread outrage.

Following their release from medical care, they visited the Borno Police Command headquarters alongside their father, Mr. Goni Murmured, where they received financial support from senior police officers.

He assured the public that updates on the case would be provided as investigations and legal proceedings continue.

“The Borno State Police Command remains committed to ensuring justice and will continue to provide updates to the public as the case progresses,”; Daso stated.

Authorities have vowed to take decisive action against those responsible, emphasizing their dedication to protecting vulnerable individuals from abuse.
