Bridgerton season 3 is officially happening. Netflix renewed the series ahead of the second season even getting a premiere date. What do we know so far?
Netflix certainly surprised Bridgerton fans with the season 3 renewal. In fact, it came with a season 4 renewal at the same time. This isn’t normal for Netflix, but we’d love for it to become that way.
We don’t know too much about the season just yet. However, judging by the process with season 2, it looks like it’s going to be based on the third book in the series.
Here’s everything we know about Bridgerton season 3 so far. We’ll bring updates as they happen.
Bridgerton season 3 release date
We don’t have a release date just yet. That’s not surprising since the season hasn’t been filmed yet. There’s no way that Netflix would announce a release date just yet.
Bridgerton season 2 could happen in 2021 or early 2022. With that in mind, we could see season 3 in late 2022 or early 2023. It could even be slightly earlier. The benefit of an early renewal is that the pre-production work can start earlier than normal.
Bridgerton season 3 cast
We’ll probably not see Regé-Jean Page return to the series. Recently, it was confirmed that he wouldn’t be in the second season because his character isn’t in the books that much.
We’ll likely see all the Bridgerton siblings return in some sort of way, but the third season is likely to be based on the third book. This is the one that focuses on Sophie Beckett who is like a Cinderella character falling in love with her Prince Charming. That Prince Charming? Benedict Bridgerton.
That means we’ll definitely see Luke Thompson return as Benedict Bridgerton.
Sophie hasn’t been introduced into the series just yet. We’ll wait to see who will play her.
Bridgerton season 3 trailer
There isn’t a trailer just yet. The season hasn’t been filmed yet, so that’s not surprising. We’ll probably get a trailer around a month or two before the season is released.
Bridgerton season 3 synopsis
There’s no guarantee that the third season will follow the third book in Julia Quinn’s season, but that’s certainly probable. The first season was based on the first book and the second season will be based on the second book.
An Offer from a Gentleman is the title of the third book. It follows Sophie Beckett, a woman born into privilege although you wouldn’t realize it. Her father is an earl, but her evil stepmother has relegated her to being a servant.
However, Sophie manages to sneak into Lady Bridgerton’s masquerade ball, and that’s where she meets her “Prince Charming.” As she spins in Benedict Bridgerton’s arms, she feels like she’s royalty, but is this just for one night? Will there be a love story in the end?
