It's best known for its tasty homemade fish cake recipe and a secret ingredient in its crispy batter.

The Fish Works, Largs, came in at second place.

In third place was Kellaway's Fish and Chips, Truro,, which offers fish while you enjoy that salty sea air.

Located on the Cornish coastline the venue is run by Larry and Amanda Kellaway who have been working away in the shop for almost three decades.

Onto the Takeaway of the Year award we have Bells Fish and Chips, in first place.

Offering a mix of take-away and dine-in options, the Framwellgate Moor venue has racked up countless positive reviews and 4.5 stars on Trip Advisor.

Nextup was Malt and Anchor, Gloucestershire, in second place, which offers a swanky interior to enjoy your fish and chip dish.

As well as the traditional pub grub the restaurant serves savoury pies and even , bubbly, and .

And taking the bronze medal was Trenchers Spanish City, Whitley Bay, which has been keeping locals happy for the past 40 years.

The swanky venue even offers an in-person pianist to listen to while you're munching on your award-winning chips.

The Field to Frier award refers to the entire journey of each food item from the field to the fryer, and looks to award the quality and care at every step of the supply chain.

Redcloak Fish Bar, Stonehaven, won the category thanks to its “high quality ingredients from sustainable sources”.
