IN the nineties and noughties many women feared looking at their backsides and self-consciously asked pals whether their bums were too ‘big'.
Fast-forward to now however, and the ‘mega butt' has become all the rage, with celebs such as proudly flaunting their very round posteriors.


But while some spend gruelling hours at the gym enhancing their backsides, others are risking their lives by going under the knife for the ‘perfect' hourglass figure.
A staggering 40,320 women had buttock augmentation procedures in 2020, according to figures released in 2022 by The Aesthetic Society.
The appeal of a big butt is thought to have been fuelled by the rise of Instagram and the ‘‘, which saw fans desperately trying to replicate the reality TV brood's looks.

The most common bottom-enhancing procedure is the controversial (BBL) which involves injecting fat from other parts of the body into the bottom to give a more rounded or lifted look.
The surgery – which had over 4.4 million searches in 2022, according to The Bulimia Project – carries the highest risk of all cosmetic procedures – with more than one in 4,000 resulting in fatality.

Hayley's death is the just one in a series of tragedies to hit Brits who go under the knife.
In 2024, , 38, died after paying £5,400 for the procedure, as well as a tummy tuck and a boob job.

Despite the huge dangers, BBLs are the fastest-growing type of cosmetic surgery, says the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) – and its popularity is increasing by an astronomical 20 per cent year on year.

The mother-of-four's butt, world-famous in its own right, is so curvaceous fans have long wondered if the glorious behind is all hers.
But while the face behind has been vocal about getting Botox to keep her youthful glow, the has never publicly admitted to forking out for a BBL.

The 35-year-old, who stunned fans with her earlier this year, called her decision to get the popular surgical treatment “stupid”;.
