I did my kitchen up for just £120 – now it looks mega expensive thanks to B&Q buys & a lick of £22 paint

A THRIFTY woman has wowed social media users with her epic kitchen makeover using B&Q and Amazon bargains.

According to recent data by HiF Kitchens, the average cost of a mid-range kitchen transformation the UK is around £20,000-£30,000 – but Anne Marie Penfold recently proved there's no need to fork out the eye-watering sum.

The money-smart woman, who lives in Royal Tunbridge Wells, managed to revamp her dull kitchen on a tight budget thanks to purse-friendly buys.

What's even more impressive, Anne revealed in the post, she did everything herself – and you wouldn't be able to tell that by the fabulous After snaps.

Before the renovation project, which cost here a mere £120, the beige kitchen lacked character, featuring basic cupboards, a dark grey worktop and white tiling.

But after weekend of working on the DIY glow-up, Anne managed to totally turn it upside down, giving the kitchen a brand new look, with a pop of colour.

Instead of spending hundreds on new cupboards, the Facebook user decided to simply zhuzh up the existing set by painting with Cupboard & Cabinet Paint from B&Q.

Depending on which shade you go for, you can pick up a pot of paint for as little as £22 for a 750ml can – or £32 for a 2l option.

The now-updated turquoise cupboards looked more chic and trendy and went perfect with the marble-effect worktops and the light grey flooring.

According to Anne, she had ordered the chic worktop wrap from Amazon – where she also snapped up fun black and white self-adhesive tiles.

A simple and purse-friendly alternative to new flooring or walls, vinyl wall tiles are easy to use, adding a polish to your space without having to worry about tiling a whole room.

All chuffed with the epic glow-up – and rightly so – Anne proudly showed off the jaw-dropping results on the popular DIY On A Budget Official page.

She wrote in the caption: ”So this is my kitchen makeover on a tiny budget. It was a long weekend of hard work but wow what a change! All done for £120.

The gorgeous renovation project has clearly impressed many, as the post has racked up close to 200 likes in just two days.
