Chelsea ‘favourites to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot and transfer could be completed by January deadline’

CHELSEA are “favourites”; to sign Juventus star Adrien Rabiot in the January transfer window, reports suggest.

That is according to Fichajes, who claim Rabiot is an “express request”; by the Blues’ manager Graham Potter.

Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel also eyed the midfielder in the summer but ultimately got Denis Zakaria on loan from Juve on transfer deadline day.

But the West Londoners look set to reignite their interest in the France international and appear to be in pole position for his signature.

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri doesn’t appear to have any objections and would give the go-ahead.

Therefore, the Frenchman could be on his way to Stamford Bridge in the next couple of months.

The only thing left to sort out is whether the ex-Paris Saint-Germain ace would join on loan or on a permanent deal.

But it’s claimed Chelsea could be rivalled Newcastle for the versatile midfielder.

However, Potter is willing to offer out-of-favour star Hakim Ziyech to Juventus in exchange for his man.

Chelsea need reinforcements in midfield with N’Golo Kante and Jorginho’s contracts expiring in June.

Rabiot was on the verge of joining Manchester United in the summer after the Red Devils and the Bianconeri agreed a fee.

But United pulled out of a deal for the 27-year-old due to his sky-high wage demands.
