The Chinese government has declared that it enjoys a cordial relationship with Iran, ahead of Wednesday's scheduled meeting of senior officials.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, will visit Beijing at the invitation of CPC Central Committee member and Foreign Minister, Wang Yi.
At a briefing on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun noted that China-Iran diplomatic ties have endured for 54 years.
Jiakun said both nations respect, trust, and support each other, with sound and steady growth of bilateral ties, while also promoting regional and global peace and stability.
He stated that during Araghchi's visit, the two sides will have an in-depth exchange of views on China-Iran relations and on international and regional hotspot issues of mutual interest.
“The upcoming visit is vital for the two sides to implement the important common understandings reached between the leaders of the two countries,” he said.
The meeting âwill deepen political mutual trust, âdefend multilateralism,â and advance cooperation in various fields, the spokesperson added.
