Sharing a video on her TikTok page @annrussell03, she revealed that there are three levels when it comes to adding fabric conditioner.

She explained that they will “feel greasy and floppy because it acts like a scented wax.”

Ann clarified this by saying that it effectively puts a wax over all the fibres in your clothes “and it stops them sticking together,” explaining that it is like a moisturiser for clothes, and over time, it builds up.

Speaking to her 2.8 million TikTok followers, she said: “That can be why you open your drawers and your clothes don't smell great; they feel floppy and odd.”

Ann explained that those who use fabric softener should only use the first level in their conditioner drawer; otherwise, it will build up and not smell great.

A fourth asked: “How do I get rid of the built-up stuff on clothes making it smell?”;
