CONOR MCGREGOR showcased his newly beefed-up physique following a gruelling training session.

The Notorious has made the weight room his sanctuary during his recovery from the Dustin Poirier last July.

packed on several pounds of muscle during that time, so much so that his lightweight frame looks to be a thing of the past.

And it was on full show following a recent training session at Straight Blast Gym in Dublin.

The Irishman’s wrestling coach, Sergey Pikulskiy, shared post-training photos of themselves to his Instagram on Friday morning.

And the topless McGregor’s muscles were bulging at the seams, so much so the veins on his arms and shoulders were popping.

The former two-division UFC champion’s core and leg muscles looked significantly larger than usual – with striations prominent across the latter.

MMA fans were quick to comment on McGregor’s new frame, with one saying: “Damn McGregor looks in phenomenal shape.”;

Another said: “170 or 185, guys jacked as f***. No way he’s making 155 without chopping off a leg.’

And another said: “Roberto Carlos legs.”;

Mystic Mac’s SBG Ireland team-mate Sinead Kavanagh said: “Champ is back.”;

McGregor recently claimed his dramatic body transformation has seen him reach the UFC’s heavyweight limit.

During an impromptu Instagram Live, the Dubliner responded to a question about his weight from former UFC star Yoel Romero by saying: “I don’t know, mate. But big! Big anyway.

The UFC’s poster boy is targeting a 2023 return to the octagon

“I’d say I’m about 265lbs, yeah! In the bank, I’m heavy in the bank I am.”

McGregor is targeting an early 2023 return to the octagon, recently saying: “I’m going to be back soon, hopefully.

“Early 2023 I’m aiming for. Sometime in that first quarter.

“That will give me a good couple of months [to prepare].

“Once I wrap this up in a couple of days, get the camp going [for] a good couple of months. And get going.”;

McGregor, however, will have to re-enter the United States Anti-Doping Agency’s testing pool for a minimum of six months before he can fight again.

The UFC does have the power to grant the Irishman an exemption to their anti-doping policy provided he returns to two negative tests beforehand.
