Copa del Rey: Barcelona beat Real Madrid 3-2 in dramatic final

Published on April 27, 2025 at 06:23 AM

Jules Kounde stroked in a long-range winner onSaturdaynight, as Barcelona beat Real Madrid 3-2 in the Copa del Rey final in Seville.

It was Barca who opened the scoring in the game, after Lamine Yamal rolled the ball to Pedri at the edge of the area.

Pedri only took one touch as he swept the ball into the top-left corner of Thibaut Courtois' net.

Madrid looked a better side after the break following the introduction of Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe drilled in a free-kick to level the game after he was fouled by Frenkie de Jong.

Los Blancos then took the lead when Aurelien Tchouameni headed in from a corner. But the game went into extra time after Ferran Torres rolled the ball into an empty net.

With penalties looming, Kounde pounced on a loose pass from Luka Modric to ensure Barcelona won the feisty game.
