Claire, 53, has dropped a big clue that she is not set to be culled from Coronation Street while chatting about her career.

In fact, she has even claimed not to”know much” about the huge cutbacks imposed on the struggling soap in recent months.

While speaking to New! magazine, Claire said: “Oh I'm very happy.

“I don't know much about the cuts or what's going on. I'm just happy.”

Claire, who joined Corrie as Cassie – the estranged daughter of Evelyn Plummer – in 2023.

But although the soap has seen multiple stars either quit or be shown the door in the last few months, Claire is feeling positive.

She added: “I love my job, simple as that. I still look forward to going to work.

“As long as I keep that love and passion, it keeps me alive and fresh. It doesn't feel like work.”

Flying Eze previously revealed how Coronation Street bosses have been forced to make cuts in a desperate bid to save the cash-strapped soap.

This means that a number of stars have either been axed or have abandoned the long-running serial drama.

Just last week, Sue Cleaver bid the cobbles farewell after 25 years of playing Eileen Grimshaw.

The fan favourite has filmed her final scenes after telling bosses last year that she wanted to leave.

Sue's final on-screen appearance will air in the coming months.

Others, however, were not given a choice.

Colson Smith, who plays Craig Tinker, has been axed by bosses after 14 years.

The news was broken to him last summer and he has since confirmed his character will be written out of the soap this year.

In November 2024, Flying Eze also revealed that Debbie Webster is set to be killed off after 40 years on the cobbles.

Sue Devaney's character will tragically die as part of a heartbreaking dementia storyline.
