Sherrie recalled chundering all over the actor in a new interview

Sherrie, who rose to fame as Maureen on the ITV cobbles, was speaking out in a new interview as she looked back at some of her biggest faux pas and career highlights during her time in showbiz.

Having been a TV regular for almost 30 years, Sherrie has mingled with the best of them and counts many A-listers among her pals.

But one acting star who would probably rather never bump into Sherrie again is legend Steve McQueen.

Speaking to Best magazine's new podcast, Suddenly Single, Sherrie revealed that when she was at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, she was chosen to ride on a bus with Steve.

However, after accidentally gulping down some clam chowder, despite being allergic to fish, Sherrie soon vomited it all back up and directly into Steve's face.

Recalling the horror story, the actress said: “He was so beautiful. I was at RADA and they chose me to take him on a double decker red bus.

“None of us wore shoes, it was a trend at the time. I went on this red bus with Steve McQueen and all his people.

“To thank me he took me to a restaurant calledThe Poissonerieand I didn’t know that poisson meant fish, which I’m allergic to.

“The menu was French, he ordered what I now know to be clam chowder. I didn’t know what a clam was.

“Within three sips I projectile vomited straight into his face.

“His people went to grab him and I was sick all over his trousers. They called a black cab and threw me in it.

“I looked out the little window in the rear of the black cab and I could just see Steve McQueen covered in my sick.”;

Steve was often referred to as the King of Cool after becoming an icon of cinema during the 1960s and 70s.

He received anAcademy Awardnomination for his role inThe Sand Pebblesin 1966.

In 1974, he was declared the world's highest paid movie star.

Meanwhile, Sherrie found success on the small screen after her time in Corrie.

She appeared in Crossroads and Emmerdale following her time in Weatherfield as well as being a panelist on Loose Women for 15 years.

Sherrie also took part in Celebrity Big Brother in 2015 before joining the cast of Hollyoaks last year.
