The finished result looked so stylish that Celene said people can’t tell they have a at all.

On her @61thecouncilhouse account, she wrote: “POV you live in a council house but nobody can tell.”;

The first thing they did was rip out the plain white tiles from around the bath.

They also removed the bath tub and completely stripped the walls back.

Celene showed how they added new to the walls and floor and it completely transformed the look.

The main difference in the room was the black shower that they added in the place of the bath.

She explained that they asked for permission before doing the DIY work and it was approved.

The finished bathroom looked unrecognisable, and people couldn’t believe it was the same room.

One said: “Looks lit.”;

Another added: “Seriously though, good work.”;

Meanwhile, a third person claimed there is one way you can tell a house is a council home, despite any inside.

They explained: “You can always tell from the outside and area!”;

And one person pointed out: “Fingers crossed you can buy it next year as this is MAD expense to put into a house that isn’t yours currently.”;

According to the Gov website, the improvements you can make to your council property depends on the type of tenancy you have.

If you are introductory tenants, typically you are limited to minor improvements like redecorating inside.

However, if you’re a secure tenant, you have the right to carry out improvements to your property, including installing a new bathroom or kitchen, building an extension, putting up a garden shed or greenhouse and installing a new gas fire or fireplace.
