Barefoot darts star Damon Heta has awkward lift experience with England ace before doors open to ‘half of Newcastle’

DAMON HETA revealed he had an awkward encounter in a lift with an England star… while barefoot.

Heta, 37, played in the PDC in Germany last weekend.

He then headed straight to Leicester for this week's Players Championship 10 and 11 double header.

And on Monday evening, tweeted about a chance encounter with none other than .

He posted just before 6.30pm – just 90 minutes before Burn started for in the .

The Australian wrote: “Jumped in the hotel lift with Dan Burn, barefoot in a mad rush to get my Uber Eats as I couldn’t find my thongs [flip flops].

“It’s fair to say I broke the ice first.

“Then to come out of the lift to the half of Newcastle waiting for autographs.

“Security got jokes, asking if my Uber Eats were some shoes.”

It is quite likely Heta and the Newcastle were staying at the same hotel for their respective sporting exploits in Leicester this week.
