DSS arrests two key suspects involved in Uromi killing

Security operatives from the Department of State Security (DSS) have apprehended two principal suspects connected to the gruesome murder of 16 northerners in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State.
The arrests, carried out in Uromi were based on credible intelligence, while efforts are still ongoing to track down other individuals implicated in the attack.

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, previously disclosed during a condolence visit to Kano State that 14 suspects had already been detained and were being prepared for transfer to Abuja for further interrogation.

Speaking during the visit, Governor Okpebholo reassured the victims’ families, stating, “justice will be served and those involved in the killing will be brought to justice.”; He further pledged that “adequate compensation will be paid”; to those who lost loved ones.

A statement from the Edo State governor’s media office later confirmed that the two key suspects arrested by the DSS have been moved to Abuja, where they will face further questioning and prosecution by the appropriate authorities.
