DFB Pokal: Leverkusen’s Tella in contention to face Arminia Bielefeld

Published on March 31, 2025 at 05:05 PM

Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has confirmed Nathan Tella is in line to make a return to action for the club against Arminia Bielefeld.

Bielefeld will host Leverkusen in the semi-final of the DFB Pokal at the SchucoArena on Tuesday night.

Tella has been sidelined with an injury for the last three weeks.

Alonso said the winger will undergo a late fitness test to ascertain his readiness to face Bielefeld.

“Nathan [Tella feels] way better. We train now, but if there is no problem [during the session], he is in the squad [against Bielefeld tomorrow],” the Spaniard told a press conference on Monday.

A win for Bayer Leverkusen would seal their place in the final of the DFB Pokal for a second season in a row.
