Discount chain slashes price of 185g box of Celebrations to just 20p

A BARGAIN retailer has slashed the price of a Celebration box to just 20p.

One eagled-eyed shopper spotted the deal at B&M, which showed that the price had dropped from £3.15 for 185g worth of chocolate.

The shopper posted a picture of the find on the Bargain Lovers Facebook group along with three smiling face with heart eyes emojis.

The post has created quite a buzz among sweet-toothed bargain hunters.

One shopper, in disbelief, commented: “Shut the front door!”

Another person, tagged a friend, and wrote: “what a bargain x.”

Whilst a third cheekily added: “Can I have half.”

Currently, Asda has also knocked down the price of the 185g Celebration box to £2.98 from £3.78.

While, the price of the box in Iceland is £3.25, and £4 in Morrisons.

But with Easter fast approaching, shoppers are snapping them up quickly.

Elsewhere, shoppers were racing to B&M after spotting Cadbury’s Daim Eggs back on shelves for just £1.50.

The Easter treat made its return after the Christmas version, Dairy Milk Robins, was discontinued – leaving shoppers gutted.

B&M is not the only retailer knocking off prices of its chocolates.

Recently, Morrisons slashed the price of a number of its big packs of Cadbury chocolates to just 87p.

The chocolates include Bitsa Wispa, Crunchie Rocks, Oreo Bites, and Cadbury Animals, all going for a fraction of their usual price.

The 110g bags of sweet treats usually range anywhere between £1.75 to £2 at the major supermarkets.

Whilst Farmfoods had dropped the price of Celebrations 550g tubs to just £2.99 earlier in March.

This made it the cheapest deal on the market before the offer expired.

How to save money at B&M

The B&M scanner app is free to download onto your smartphone via the Apple App Store or Google Play and flags potential bargains.

Once downloaded, use the camera on your phone to scan product barcodes around the store.

The app then tells you the true price of that product, which is sometimes much lower than the price tag says it is.

One shopper used the app to get a £10 long hot water bottle for just 10p.

The best time to get cut-price products is 10am on a Wednesday, according to one ex B&M manager.

This is when staff slash items to as little as 10p to clear excess stock and make way for new products.

Deals expert Tom Church said to keep an eye out for red sticker products as well.

These are added to special-buy products that have been reduced in price.

It's worth signing up to Facebook pages dedicated to hunting for bargains from B&M and other discounters too.

Meanwhile, other major bargains could be heading your way as Tesco's plans to start giving yellow sticker deals to customers for free.

The UK's biggest supermarket is set to introduce the freebies on food due to go out of date across selected Express stores as part of a trial.

The free products will be available for shoppers who visit these branches after 9.30pm.

The move comes as Tesco looks to cut its food waste.

The supermarket giant said it will continue giving some of the end-of-life products to charity as it currently does.

Staff will also get priority for the free products reduced earlier in the day.
