The Department of States Services, DSS, Abia State Command has assured the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, in Abia State of continuous collaboration, support and synergy towards the safety and security of Corps members in the state.
This is even as the Command advised Corps members against unauthorized journeys due to the risks involved.
State Director of DSS, Ibrahim Abdullahi gave the assurance on Wednesday when he received the Abia State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Gladys Adama, who led the management staff to the DSS State headquarters in Umuahia.
While responding to the brief of the Coordinator, Mr. Abdullah assured that his office will immediately carry out some vulnerability assessment of all NYSC facilities in the state for further necessary actions and that the command will do everything to make the scheme comfortable.
The DSS Director advised corps members to have positive attitude towards the service and ensure they make positive impact during the service year.
Earlier in her brief, Mrs. Adama, who welcomed the Director to Abia State, stated that she was in his office to appreciate the DSS for all their support to the scheme in the past and to solicit for more support even as the 2025 Batch ‘A' Stream I orientation course approaches.
DAILY POST gathered that a few hours after the courtesy visit by the NYSC, the DSS State Director sent a crack team of his officers for an on-the-spot assessment of the condition of the NYSC state secretariat at Finbar's Road, Umuahia.
