The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Osun State Command, has deployed 1,600 personnel to strategic locations across the state in preparation for the Easter celebrations.
The Osun NSCDC Command also assured the people of Osun State of adequate security measures to ensure a peaceful Easter celebration and the protection of lives and property.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the command’s spokesperson, Adeleke Kehinde, the Osun NSCDC Commandant, Igbalawole Sotiyo, revealed that the designated locations include markets, places of worship, recreational centres, and other public spaces.
Sotiyo said, “This deployment is aimed at preventing any potential security breaches and ensuring that the good people of Osun State can celebrate the Easter without any disruptions.
“NSCDC Osun State Command is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all during and after Easter celebrations. We urge everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest NSCDC office or other security agencies.”
He stated that directives had been given to all area commanders and divisional officers across the state to maintain a high level of alertness and ensure public safety before, during, and after the celebration.
Commandant Sotiyo also appealed to residents to cooperate with security personnel and report any security concerns to the appropriate authorities.
