The leftie has told pals “he is worried”; that Sir Keir Starmer will move as he waters down climate change policies.

A Labour insider said: “Everyone is talking about the Cabinet reshuffle andhas told friends he is worried he could be for the chop.

“The reshuffle probably wont be for months – but it is all anyone is talking about.”;

The PM has already ordered a clear-out of No10 – parting way with communications chief Matthew Doyle, and senior policy advisers Nick Williams Tom Webb.

The move has sparked fury among some in Labour, who say Sir Keir has shown no loyalty to his closest lieutenants.

One government insider said: “It is really upsetting – where is the loyalty?”;

Others said it highlights just how “ruthless” is willing to be to win.

A senior government source said: “It shows how Keir is willing to change his team if it is not working.

“It is being ruthless.”;

Earlier this week, the PM announced he is watering down strict electric vehicle targets to protect Britain’s car industry from tariffs.

Petrol and diesel vans, and hybrid cars, will be sold until 2035.

Elite car makers like and McLaren will be exempt from eco targets.

And strict targets and fines forcing car manufacturers to sell a certain percentage of electric cars will also be eased.

It is the second time the PM has watered down eco pledges – having already ditched the vow to spend £28bn a year on green policies.
