Published on March 30, 2025 at 05:53 AM

The Muslim Public Affairs Centre, MPAC, has condemned the brutal killing of 16 hunters from northern Nigeria in Uromi, Edo State, describing the attack as a tragic reminder of the dangers of mob violence.
In a statement issued on Sunday, MPAC expressed shock and sadness over the killings and called on authorities, to as a matter of urgency, launch a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“This heinous act highlights the urgent need to uphold the rule of law and prevent such senseless violence.

“We urge the government to ensure justice for the victims and provide support for their grieving families,” said Disu Kamor, the Executive Chairman of MPAC.
MPAC also called on the government to address the root causes of such violence through education, awareness campaigns, and better law enforcement.

The organization emphasized that the incident was a setback for efforts to promote peace, tolerance, and national unity.

“This tragedy should serve as a wake-up call for stronger measures to foster understanding and respect among communities,”; the statement read.

Offering prayers for the victims and their families, MPAC reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for peace and justice in Nigeria.
