Eid El-fitr: NSCDC deploys 1,310 officers to protect national assets in Abia

Commandant Akinsola Aderemi, the Abia State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) has said that about 1310 personnel have been deployed to protect critical national assets ahead of the 2025 Eid-El-Fitr celebrations in the State.

According to the State Commandant, the operational order for the celebration period has been communicated to the Area Commanders and the Divisional Officers covering all the local government areas in the State, with special attention given to the protection of Critical National Assets & Infrastructure.

A press release signed by Doreen Udugwu, the Command's Public Relations Officer, said eRapid Response Squad, Tactical Team, and the Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU) will patrol black spots, vulnerable locations, recreational centers, and other flash points to nip in the bud any criminal intentions.

Also, operatives from the Female Squad, Anti-vandal Unit, and Agro Rangers Unit will coordinate and watchfully protect lives and properties before, during, and after the Salah Celebration.

The Abia NSCDC Commandant assured the residents that NSCDC will be civil and professional in the discharge of the National assignment under his watch and also appealed to the good people of Abia State to be security conscious and law-abiding.

While wishing Muslim faithful a blessed Salah celebration, the Commandant urged the residents to report suspicious movements to security agencies for prompt response.
