The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command has deployed 4,000 personnel to ensure security during the upcoming Eid-Fitr celebrations.

FCT Commandant Olusola Odumosu announced that the deployment covers all parts of the FCT, focusing on protecting lives, property, and critical national assets.

The operation includes personnel from specialised units such as the Female Strike Force, Arms Squad, Operation Adkasu, Counter-Terrorism, and Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Explosives.

Officers will be stationed at prayer grounds, shopping malls, markets, recreational centres, motor parks, amusement parks, diplomatic offices, and government buildings.

Covert surveillance is also ongoing to monitor potential threats, including uncompleted buildings that could harbor criminals.

Odumosu instructed all Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to ensure full vigilance, warning that any security breaches would not be tolerated.

He urged officers to collaborate with other security agencies and maintain discipline while respecting citizens' rights.

The NSCDC also appealed to residents to stay alert and report suspicious activities, assuring the public of a safe and secure environment throughout the celebrations.
